Voter Registration in the Philippines is now Open

Registration for the 2016 elections is ongoing in all COMELEC offices until October 31, 2015. Learn how to register to be a voter here:


Choosing one’s leaders is a fundamental political right in any democratic system. Filipinos aged 18 and above are eligible to elect their leaders and representatives in government. Registration for the 2016 elections is ongoing in all COMELEC offices until October 31, 2015.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Filipino citizen
  2. At least 18 years of age
  3. Resident of the Philippines for at least one year
  4. A resident in the place, for at least six months immediately preceding the election, wherein he/she proposes to vote
  5. Not disqualified by law

DISQUALIFICATIONS:

  1. A person who has been sentenced imprisonment for not less than one year, which is not removed by plenary pardon or amnesty;
  2. Any person who has been found guilty of rebellion, insurrection, violation of the firearms laws, or any crime against national security; and
  3. Insane or incompetent person as declared by competent authority*

REQUIREMENTS
Personal appearance in a local COMELEC office
2 valid IDs with the applicant’s photograph, address, and name
Accepted IDs:

  1. Current employee’s ID with the signature of the employer or authorized representative;
  2. Postal ID;
  3. Student’s ID or library card, signed by the school authority;
  4. Senior Citizen’s ID;
  5. Driver’s license;
  6. NBI/PNP clearance;
  7. Passport;
  8. SSS/GSIS ID;
  9. Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) ID;
  10. License issued by the Professional Regulatory Commission (PRC) and;
  11. Any other ID which fits the criteria

*The said person may be allowed to vote if he/she is subsequently declared by competent authority that he/she is no longer insane or incompetent.
