Auction for an original letter handwritten by Albert Einstein

Opening bid by an anonymous bidder: $3 Million

A 1954 handwritten letter, Albert Einstein reveals his thoughts on God and religion.

eBay opened an auction for the original letter handwritten by Albert Einstein in which he expresses his views on the existence of God on October 8.

According to Eric Gazin, president of Auction Cause, "This is the most historic and significant piece we have listed on eBay,"

In the letter, Einstein calls belief in religion and God "pretty childish" and ridicules the idea that the Jews are a chosen people. In part of Einstein letter he wrote, "For me the Jewish religion like all other religions is an incarnation of the most childish superstitions. And the Jewish people to whom I gladly belong and with whose mentality I have a deep affinity have no different quality for me than all other people. As far as my experience goes, they are also no better than other human groups, although they are protected from the worst cancers by a lack of power. Otherwise I cannot see anything 'chosen' about them,"

This is an interesting letter by Einstein. The letter is short but with an IQ as high as Einstein and with a brain like his it's nice to know what he thought about God.

And based on those who have read the letter, did Einstein believed in God? The answer is Yes and No.
