McDonald's first vegetarian outlet to open soon...

This is gonna be McDonalds' first ever vegetarian-only restaurant in the world!

McDonalds aim to open it's first vegetarian-only restaurant in India by next year. McDonalds' already tailors its menus to suit local tastes in India, this means no beef to avoid offending Hindus and no pork to cater for Muslim requirements.

In the middle of next year, they will open  first vegetarian outlet  near the Golden Temple in the Sikh holy city of Amritsar in northern India. To respect their religious authorities it's going to be an all vegetarian menu to cater locals who are  forbidden to eat meat at the shrine.

Spokesman for McDonald's in northern India, Rajesh Kumar Maini said, "It will be the first time we have opened a vegetarian restaurant in the world,"

McDonald's in India already has a menu that is 50% vegetarian.  Its McAloo Tikki burger at 28 rupees or 50 cents -- which uses a spicy fried potato-based patty. For the chicken-only meat offerings, the Maharaja Mac is also a favorite.

After their first attempt of opening the first vegetarian-only restaurant in Amritsar McDonalds' Company plans to launch another vegetarian outlet at Katra near the Vaishno Devi cave shrine in Indian Kashmir -- this is a revered Hindu pilgrimage site that draws hundreds of thousands of worshippers a year.

~Hmmm...vegetarian McDonalds' menus. I won't mind trying it if given the chance! Well, I love veggies!
