Unusual Colors of Lobsters!

I found these photos on the Internet and I want to share it with all you Cute-rs.

It's a fact that I am fascinated with colors or things with unusual colors. And today I found lobsters that was caught having unusual and different colors.

The above photo is the most common color of a lobster. The next one is a blue lobster.

One in 2-5 million lobsters are blue. A genetic defect causes a blue lobster to produce an excessive amount of protein. The protein and a red carotenoid molecule known as astaxanthin, combine to form a blue complex known as crustacyanin, giving the lobster its blue color.

This next lobster is called Half and Half or  'Two Toned' Lobster.

The ratio is about One in 50 million lobsters are half and half colored!

And here's a picture of an Albino Lobster!

A very rare albino in about one in 100 million lobsters are albino - lacking in colored pigments. These are also referred to as "white" or "crystal" lobsters due to their metallic appearance.

Here is now the Yellow Lobster

There are one in 30 million are yellow - caused by a rare genetic mutation.

Have you seen a Calico Lobster Cute-rs?

Again, the odds of finding one of these mottled yellow and black lobsters are one in 30 million, that's how rate this one is.

You know why is this lobster called 'Phantom of the Opera' Lobster?

Actually, this one is another example of a Half and Half, however it's resemblance is closer to that of a character from Phantom of the Opera that is why it was given a name like it.

The sea has so many mysterious creatures and even the colors of the lobsters are unusual.

Just sharing,
