Takoyaki Balls

Our friend's favorite...

Often when we go out with this friend he often buy this food. And it seems that it taste good. So I tried it yesterday.

Takoyaki (たこ焼き or 蛸焼, literally fried or grilled octopus) is a ball-shaped Japanese snack made of a wheat flour-based batter and cooked in a special takoyaki pan. It is typically filled with minced or diced octopus, tempura scraps (tenkasu), pickled ginger, and green onion. Takoyaki are brushed with takoyaki sauce, a sauce similar to Worcestershire sauce, and mayonnaise. The takoyaki is then sprinkled with green laver (aonori) and shavings of dried bonito (katsuobushi). There are many variations to the takoyaki recipe.

At first I was not certain that I will like the taste, the texture is so soft. The softness of Takoyaki plus the fish flakes on top is a perfect match. It's a little bit fishy but it's ok.
