Fernando Poe Jr. declared as National Artist again!

Today, July 27, 2012, President Noynoy Aquino declared The King, Fernando Poe, Jr. the posthumous National Artist award.

Fernando Poe, Jr. or Ronald Allan Poe y Kelley is real life was first declared as National Artist in 2006 under the administration of Ex-President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo. However, FPJ's wife, Susan Roces, refuses to accept the award.

Here's a statement issued by Malacañang:

“Pursuant to the authority vested in me by law, I Benigno S. Aquino III, President of the Philippines, do hereby confirm the declaration of Ronald Allan K. Poe a.k.a. Fernando Poe Jr. (Posthumous) as National Artist as conferred in Proclamation No. 1069, dated May 23, 2006.”

Da King, FPJ did more than 250 movies in his lifetime that is why he was hailed as "The King" of Philippine Movies.

He died at the age of 65 on December 14 at 12:01 am due to cerebral thrombosis with multiple organ failure.

Now that the president has change, FPJ's family expressed their acceptance of the National Artist award to be given to Da King.

I grew up watching FPJ's movie. He was my Tatay's favorite then became mine too. I've watched many of his films, even those still in Black and White films.

I'm glad that his wife, Susan Roces will finally accept the award.
