Movie Pick: Corazon: Ang Unang Aswang

Tonight I watched "Corazon: Ang Unang Aswang"

Surprisingly, I like the movie. It's different from all those Tagalog horror flick. It's not just about ugly faces and screams.

Corazon's desire to bear a child is so great that when she almost had it, she loses control. Her baby died upon child birth and this she can't accept.

Corazon is not the only problem here, it clearly shown how often people judge other person and how they treat them less of themselves. Why is it easy to judge? Why is it easy to be unkind especially to those who need it the most? Why is it easy to point a finger on someone? Often we are all responsible of how a person might become.

This what happens to Corazon, she was pushed to the limits, and it made her do things that are unacceptable.

The story is more than 'what is wrong' and 'what is right'. What is important is how it became in the end. You know what I like most about the story? -- well, it's true love.

How "aswang" started? For me, it's because of people like them. And what makes a person maintain his/her sanity? It's love.
