Dolphy undergoes 'Tracheostomy'

"Tracheostomy is making an incision on the anterior aspect of the neck and opening a direct airway through an incision in the trachea."

Last Saturday at 10 in the evening Dolphy has undergone tracheostomy, said his son, Eric in an interview. The procedure lasted only for more than 30 minutes and the doctors said it went well.

“We are aware of the risk of this procedure—he will now be more prone to infection—but this has made him feel more comfortable,"

“After the tracheostomy at 10 p.m. on Saturday, his blood pressure normalized and his heart rate improved. Although there are still fluctuations, these have become less frequent and less radical,”

The procedure was necessary to alleviate Dolphy's discomfort and it will make it easier for his organ to function properly.

For the tracheostomy, Dolphy was taken out of the ICU. Also, after Dolphy's 8 hours dialysis last Saturday morning, he went on with his 3rd dialysis yesterday, Sunday for 7 hours.

The dialysis on the other hand has helped the Comedy King and in a bit progress but he is not yet out of critical stage. On other note, the doctors are still trying to figure out the cause of Dolphy's internal bleeding.

Eric added, “The family has already accepted the fact that there would be more episodes like this in the future, probably worse than this, but we’re prepared.”

Cute-rs please continue to pray for Dolphy. Let us hope that he experience pain no more.
